WYFH PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Wilton Youth Field Hockey is a not-for-profit volunteer organization whose purpose is to develop youth players, grades K-8, into competitive, well-rounded athletes, while promoting respect, sportsmanship and a love for the sport of field hockey.
The Wilton Youth Field Hockey Program is a developmental program focused on providing age appropriate training and competitive play that enables girls to grow to their fullest potential and providing them with the guidance to evolve as a player and a ‘Warrior’.
Wilton Youth Field Hockey is a member of the Fairfield County Field Hockey League which provides competitive play opportunities throughout the season through a mix of jamborees and travel games coordinated by grade level.
Wilton Youth Field Hockey player development follows the USFHA Athlete Development Model. The ADM is a guiding framework for players, coaches, umpires, program leaders and fans to get into the sport earlier and stick with it longer. Field hockey is a sport for life, and the ADM provides best principles for and stage appropriate development on how, what and when we teach, train and play to maximize fn and enjoyment of field hockey.
